Science Center To Go |
The learning environment delivers Science Center experiences at hand; a suitcase holding a whole set of miniature AR-learning exhibits. It enables teachers; experts and students to enhance conventional teaching with natural types of learning. The first prototype was a miniaturization of an airfoil exhibit. A small model of a wing was augmented through a virtual air stream and arrows indicating forces. The project uses Augmented Reality Technology (a portable computer; a head-mounted display with an additional hybrid tracking device and cameras). The system is interactive: If users manipulate the real parts of an exhibit; the virtual ones are adapted accordingly. Users can test; judge and modify their theories in an explorative manner. The AR system becomes a constructivistic tool which makes playful learning possible. |
